As a Claims Technical Learning Consultant, you'll play an important role in building the technical capability of our Life Claims team across retail and group life claims. Working within our Talent and People Development team, you'll help create confident, capable claims professionals who deliver fair, consistent and compliant outcomes for our customers when they need us most.

 

This is a unique opportunity to combine your claims expertise with learning and capability development. You'll help shape onboarding experiences, uplift technical capability across the claims workforce, and use modern learning technologies and approved AI-enabled tools to make learning more accessible, engaging and effective.

 

You will also be responsible for the following:

 

  • Design and continuously improve technical onboarding pathways for new retail and group life claims assessors
  • Develop practical learning solutions across the claims lifecycle that reflect current products, systems, legislation and industry requirements
  • Deliver technical learning through facilitation, coaching, digital learning and on-the-job support tailored to capability needs
  • Translate quality, complaints, audit and regulatory insights into targeted capability uplift initiatives
  • Partner with leaders, technical specialists and governance teams to identify capability gaps and learning priorities
  • Build and maintain learning content within learning platforms and approved AI-enabled tools to enhance capability outcomes

You'll be a collaborative and curious professional who enjoys helping others grow. With strong stakeholder relationships and a practical mindset, you'll be comfortable translating complex technical concepts into meaningful learning experiences that drive real behavioural change and improved customer outcomes.


In order to be successful, you will have the following:

 

  • Extensive experience in retail life and/or group life claims, including exposure to complex claims assessment and technical decision-making
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, accrediting or upskilling claims professionals
  • Experience developing or delivering technical learning content, workshops, procedures or capability programs
  • Strong knowledge of life insurance claims, policy interpretation, medical and occupational evidence, and regulatory obligations
  • Experience using quality, performance or complaints data to identify capability gaps and drive improvement initiatives
  • Confidence using learning technologies, learning management systems or digital tools to support capability development
